The Right Time
We keep waiting for the right time to start, to speak up, to believe in ourselves. But what if the right time is already here?
There is a version of you that has been waiting.
Waiting until you feel more ready. More qualified. More certain that you belong in the room.
I know her well. I was her for a very long time.
The Myth of the Perfect Moment
We tell ourselves that the timing is not right. That we will apply for the promotion when we have one more year of experience. That we will speak up in the meeting when we have something truly worth saying. That we will start the business, write the book, ask for the raise — when the moment is right.
But the moment never arrives fully formed. It does not knock on the door and announce itself. It just quietly passes while you are still getting ready.
What "The Right Time" Actually Means
I have come to believe that the right time is not about external conditions. It is not about having the perfect credentials, the perfect plan, or the perfect confidence.
The right time is the moment you decide that waiting is costing you more than moving forward.
That is it. That is the whole thing.
The Reader Who Reminded Me
A reader recently wrote to tell me that Confessions of an Imposter came into her life at exactly the right time. She had been carrying something heavy, and the book helped her set it down.
What struck me was not that the book arrived at the right time. It was that she was ready to receive it.
The book had been available. The words had been there. But she was ready when she was ready — and that readiness was its own kind of timing.
You Are Already Ready Enough
Here is what I want you to hear today: you do not need to be more ready than you already are.
You are qualified enough to apply. You have enough to say to speak. You have enough experience to lead.
The doubt you feel is not evidence that you are not ready. It is evidence that you care about doing it well. Those are not the same thing.
A Place to Start
If you have been waiting to read or listen to Confessions of an Imposter, consider this your sign.
Not because the timing is perfect. But because you are already ready enough.
The paperback and Kindle editions are available too. Start wherever feels right — because any start is the right start.
